What upcoming maintenance do you have planned for your vehicles?

The "official" start of fall is approaching and since the fall/winter is when I do most of my vehicle maintenance (its too damn hot here in the summer) I am already starting to prep my maintenance plan for my three (3) vehicles. They include:

1. Each gets an oil change.
2. Each gets a tire rotation.
3. The truck needs some fluids changed (30K schedule).
4. Replace older hoses/belts as needed.

When these jobs are complete I plan to detail each to include wash/polish/wax, engine cleaning and interior as well.

Was wondering what others had planned as temps start cooling off ...

Lower timing change replacement (about a day job on my jetta as I have to drop the transmission)
Replace MT lube with Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil
Change oil after the lower timing chain replacement
Examine and replace clutch as needed

i just replaced the cabin air filters. dealer wants close to $200 for both lol. bought both filters online for about $15 and replaced within 10 minutes.

tire rotation every 6k....coming up
oil change
diff fluid change

2007 Honda Civic:

1. Replace brake pads
2. Rotate tires
3. Change oil
4. Get alignment done

2007 Toyota Camry

1. Fix up a few small rock chips on the front bumper and hood

I change the oil once a year and an air filter maybe every 3 years. It's an 04 and still has the original tires and brakes on it so they may need to be replaced

Change oil on my stepfather's Dodge Ram 1500 Quad laramie LXT blah blah blah.
Change oil in my 1998 Acura 3.5RL (Any good recommendations aside from Mobil 1?) 🙂
And do a weekly drive of 1972 Jaguar XJ6 4.2litre, but I rarely have time for that. 🙁

Gotta rotate my tires for the last few months of the season, then switch to snows in the late fall.
Getting my car KROWN rust proofed probably sometime in Sept.
That's pretty much it, it only has 20K on it. And I just did an oil change.

Need to do an oil change on Insight #1.

Flush coolant, brake and clutch fluid in #3. Also install block heater at time of coolant flush. Replace hatch struts on #3(completed this last weekend).

I'd like to have an alignment done on all three cars as well.

Oil changes both
However I'm cheaping out on the minivan 'not synth' cause this is the last winter I'll drive it and wreck it in the spring or sell for $500
Switch to studded winter tires both
Versa needs shocks and struts $$ and maybe time for a coolant flush which I'll do

Those who are flushing their coolant ... what do you do with the old coolant ... "flush" it?

The local parts store has a tank for used MO ... what about old coolant?

Oil Change - Mobil 1 EP
Rotate wheels and check tire pressures, including spare.
Flush brake fluid
Flush tranny fluid
Check all bulbs and lenses
Vacuum out inside and wax outside for winter
Add winter washer fluid
Replace wiper blades with winter blades, including rear hatch blade
Rain X windshield
Clean battery terminals - put jumper cables in back of car
Check all belts and hoses
Check brakes when rotating wheels - replace if necessary
Vehicle inspection under car and in engine compartment.
As for the old coolant - it makes a great weed killer.

Oil change, probably need tires soon, alignment. That's pretty much it I guess. I did brakes over the summer and replaced the wipers.

Disclaimer-This post is not about Ducati motorcycles.

-I need to replace the roof/windshield trim on my '96 Volvo 850R that the black has peeled away on. It's now chrome and sticks out in a bad way. I'm looking for someone parting out a S70.
-Front sway bar end-links are a bit worn so I'm going to upgrade to heavy duty end-links
-Need to repaint the rear spoiler
-Alignment and tire rotation.
-Replace upper engine mount and transmission mount bushings with polyurethane replacements.

Anyone who mention doing an alignment ... do you pay someone to do it or DIY?

If it's a DIY project how do you do it?

was going to get new wipers and install the new camber arms I have sitting in the garage, but I spent most of my free time playing Dead Island instead

I usually let the dealer service my car because (1) I don't have a garage and my apartment complex does not allow me to mess with it in the parking spaces (2) to avoid any finger pointing if something goes wrong down the line. Unfortunately, I let them change the in-cabin filter thinking it wouldn't be expensive. Yeah... bad idea. Based on instructions that I found, it'd take about 20 minutes (the Altima's a bit more complex than some other vehicles), and they charged me about $150 for labor (including the oil change). I'm wondering if they specifically hold the car for over an hour so they can change 1.5 hours worth of labor.

Oh well. At least I wasn't dumb enough to take the "Premium Maintenance." I even told the guy I didn't want it, and he tried to sell it off as "necessary preventative maintenance." 🙄 Sure, bud... I bet changing the transmission fluid every 3,000 miles would be good preventative maintenance too, but it doesn't make it any less stupid.

It's usually around $70 for a four-wheel alignment, which isn't too bad. I don't think there's any easy way to do it yourself given they use machines to test the alignment.
