I haven't had many in the past 10 years because I got married and slowed my intake of hard stuff... :p I like single malt scotch, but found the cheaper ones to only hit a few notes, so they're good but I've not explored the higher end labels. I thought Johnny Walker Black/Blue/Red were all ok...but I've only tried them in passing. I settled on DeWars for flavor/cost. I've not been impressed enough with JW to buy a bottle based on price/value. I may look for some uber-premium scotches just to throw a bottle or two on the shelf.

I'm more of a bourbon guy and like cold liquor, so I usually drink scotch or bourbon on the rocks. (quickly though) I don't like it watered down, I just don't like it room temp.

Well, Scotch has only one purpose (as the above poster stated): getting you drunk. It tastes horrible. But I guess if I were to pick my "favorite", I'd throw out the only brandname I know. Johnny Walker Blue Label.
My goal in drinking is never to get drunk.

I enjoy bourbon all the time and often stop at one drink....2-3oz over ice. Can do the same with scotch.

These liquors are not for getting drunk. They are to be enjoyed and savored. The cost of a single bottle alone should say something about a premium liquor and its purpose. I used to meet up with some of my colleagues at a yearly conference. We'd always hit the hotel bar and order scotch to go with some cigars that one of the guys would always bring. Enjoying a glass of scotch, a cigar, and conversation is much different than eating chicken wings and chugging beers at a sports bar. Everything seems slower and you enjoy every sip.

You can buy a $12-14 handle of cheap vodka if you want to get drunk...your money will go further that way.

Too many favorites to pick just one, but Balvenie is my most preferred brand. Really enjoying their Caribbean Cask 14, and Single Barrel 15 is outstanding as well.
