Lagavulin here too. Just finished a bottle last week, and cracked the new one two nights ago :)

The kind you can only get in Edinburgh.
Anyone ever been to the brewery down the street from the castle?

Lagavulin, Oban or Talisker

Lagavulin is DAMN good.

A wee bit of heaven it is...

"Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch 16 Year
Color: deep gold; Nose: heady and pungent with peat smoke, with soft notes of salt; Body: full and rich; Palate: robust, dry flavor of peat dominates, with the tang of the sea surfacing occasionally; Finish: smooth, with a gentle bite to introduce the long, smoky afterglow of peat that lingers and warms the soul. "

o shiet.... yep

first got into it when my bosses hooked me up when i was finally 21. when i was 19 working there, they wouldn't hook me up lol...

how much you pay for yours, i think it's about 60

Laphroaig 10 year is my personal favorite. I also have a warm spot in my belly for Balvenie's doublewood 12 year & Glenmorangie 18yr. Stay away from Glenfiddich, whatever you do.

Well, Scotch has only one purpose (as the above poster stated): getting you drunk. It tastes horrible. But I guess if I were to pick my "favorite", I'd throw out the only brandname I know. Johnny Walker Blue Label.

Laphroaig has some good bottles of scotch...

I also like some stuff from highland park, aberlour, glenmorangie, and bowmore.

My current favorite is a bottle of bowmore cask strength, port wood finish that I have...yummy.

Hmm there are so many good ones. Lagavulin is definitely a go to for me, but its not something you want start out with. There is a bourbon and scotch bar here that has pretty much everything and I had Linkwood 2000 Octave Cask and it was probably the best thing I've ever drank in my life.
