What type of RESUME format, paper to use?

hi all
I'm trying to apply for the loan specialist and I just don't know how to make my resume look professional. Anyone know or have sample designed resumes that I can download or know any website?

What kind of paper should I use? someone told me to go the Kinko's and get a resume paper that they are selling. Is that a good Idea? What color then?

I read articles about how to write a resume but did not see sample professional looking resume that I could use...

Definitely don't use inkjet.
 
Resume, no real format to use. Everyone has a style, there is just some rules to follow. Make it short and to the point, one full page, easy to read. I like that nice thick paper that isn't quite white, more like a darker ivory.

I just one more question to add. What is cover letter? Is that a resume? or cover letter is something that I have make when I give my resume to the employer?

Just some resume tips:
  • - No more than 2 pages
    - Don't use underlining, italics, or boxes
    - No smaller than a size 11 font, and use a standard typeface (TNR, Arial, CG Times)
    - Don't put "Resume" at the top of your page
    - Have your name, address, phn # and e-mail at the top of the page
    - Experience and Education are in reverse chronological order

Think of your cover letter as a persuasive sales letter, selling yourself.

It should have:

  • - A salutation
    - A subject line (in caps, not bolded) identifying job position and source of information
    - Your opening should have some kind of "hook"
    - Show knowledge of your employer
    - Summarize your key qualifications
    - Your letter body should expand on your key qualifications and any requirement found in job ad
    - Have work qualifications, educational qualifications, and personal traits
    - Close by asking for an interview, give phone # again and a good time to be reached

If they are going to scan your resume it might be better to use a font like Arial which I understand OCR's better...

I dunno...that used to be true but with modern scanning technology, I not sure it matters anymore. I still use an Arial type font.

Good luck, you can make some good bank doing loans if business is good. One of my friends makes about 10-15k per month doing loans...his volume is pretty good though, as I understand it.
 
I've always used a very high quality rag paper in a cream or off-white color for my resumes.

The paper's gotta have a high cotton content to give the feel of quality. Quality=success to the subconscious.

I've actually gotten interviews for jobs there's no way I'd be qualified for just because my resume stood out so much. LoL

The downside to using that kind of paper is that inkjets look like crap on it. You've gotta use a laser. (Haven't tried the new Epson pigmented inks yet... Might work.)
