I am currently going to purchase a 2.8 800mhz p4 and a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP, and i am looking for a 512mb stick of ram pc-3200 ddr to go with it. Any ideas on what to buy, or what hot deals there are currently out there? I'd prefer an price of around 60-70, unless the extra $ is worth the extra power. I also do not plan to overclock the memory.
Thanks

Remember you need 2 sticks to run Dual DDR. You can get OCZ performance PC3500 from Newegg for $65 shipped free and you can get a free newegg tee shirt. I ordered 2 on seperate orders so I could also get the deal on the Mini RC car for my kid.

I was currently looking at the 512mb Geil pc-3200 at newegg for $69, however would i need two of those in order to run them. Also any ideas on the quality of Geil pc-3200?

Also, wouldn't it be a waste to purchase pc-3500 of the Gigabyte only supports Dual Channel DDR 400? I also heard Dual Channel DDR was pointless as opposed to regular ddr; or am i just confused about the types of memory?

since that is for ocz 256mb, is it odd that I would have to shell out roughly $250 for 2x512mb pc-3200, and roughly 130 for a mere 512mb?

If you are not going to OC then the GEIL would be fine. To be able to use the Dual DDR function on your MB you have to have two sticks of memory (hence Dual DDR). The Dual DDR is significantly faster than running one stick. The OCZ memory that I recomended is a higher performance memory meaning it is CAS 2 and it will OC very good.

The $60-$70 you stated for the GEIL is for their "Value ram" it goes up to $94 for their CAS 2 moduals.
