I don't game much anymore but I play, or have played, a variety. I tend to lean towards military type games though, whether they be FPS, simulator, or strategy.

Currently I'm playing in order of most often (I use that loosely; I may only play a particular game below once a month):
- World of Warships (love this shizzle)
- GTA V
- Elder Scrolls Oblivion
- Fallout New Vegas
- Wargame Airland Battle

That reminds me, I bought Sniper Elite V3 weeks ago but still haven't even played it. Oops.

Pretty eclectic. If there's anything I tend to stay away from, it's MP FPS (just burned out) and MMOs.

Just a totally random sample of games I really enjoy:

Cities: Skylines
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Mirror's Edge
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Just Cause 2
Project CARS
Underhell

I play auto racing (mostly sim), sims (like SimCity), FPS, RTS, MMO, sports, etc. Ones I don't play are heavily competitive games like Starcraft II or DOTA 2 or such and I don't play single-player type games like Thief, Assassin's Creed, etc, also not a fan of mobile games however I do play a couple because of friends/family.

In the 80s and 90s I used to play literally anything that I could get my hands into. Sports games, flight simulators, simulations like SimCity, RPGs, adventure games, you name it.

But as time passed, maybe because my taste got more selective, or because more games were made and I only had so much free time, entire genres started to disappear from my menu. Nowadays I mostly only play non-action (i.e. turn based or RTwP) RPGs and grand strategy games (like Europa Universalis 4, Crusader Kings 2, etc).

It's not even about playing time, as I'm retired now so I play a lot more, but I just don't enjoy playing genres like sports, shooters or simulations like I once did.

I feel the same way, I can't stand the modern FPS shooters anymore and some sports games are just meh lately. I used to like games like Operation Flashpoint, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series, but seeing as how games gets dumbed down, I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft ruins the next Rainbow Six. At least I still have Arma 2, and Cities Skyline has been a pleasent surprise.

I prefer storydriven games, preferably non-linear.

Like Dragon Age, The Witcher, Mass Effect, GTA series, KOTOR, etc.

Hi Guys,
I play way too much these days. I'm retired, so after I've done for the day I settle down for a few hours of gaming. I don't watch TV, cos over here in the UK it's pretty poo.
Games I play....
Any Tom Clancy
Max Payne 3
Some racing games
Guild wars 2. Love it. I'm not fantastic at it, but I've just got too level 60. Need to learn more about PvP, WvW and crafting.
Some horror games but they scare the poo out of me.
But I don't like all these level platform things that seem to have come out of the wood work over the last few years. Been their with my Master system and Mega Drive.

I jump from one to the next and back sometimes after a day but usually don't stick with one longer than a week.

Recently been playing:
Hearts of Iron 3
World of Warships
Shadow of Mordor
Cities: Skylines
War Thunder
KOTOR
That blob game someone found on here.
Crusader Kings 2
Rome 2
Kerbal Space Program
Robocraft
Civ 5

Games I keep coming back to:
Hearts of Iron 3
Crusader Kings 2
Victoria 2
Supreme Ruler
Sword of the Stars

So I guess I favor grand strategy type games specifically Paradox games. I love space based strategy games but there has not been a really good one since Sword of the Stars. I felt that one was almost perfect but then they killed the franchise with SotS 2.

I will play most exceptional single player games, no matter the genre, but I will play almost any RPG.

I'm kind of specialized on single player first person shooters, preferably nonlinear with good stories but also CounterStrike. My favorites are Fallout 3 & Fallout New Vegas, but close behind are the STALKER and FEAR games. I also have a lot of driving games, but haven't played any in a year or three.

LIKES: Fallout games; Elder Scroll games; Borderlands games; Stalker games; Half Life games; Left for Dead; Defense Grid... GAMES I TRIED TO LIKE BUT COULDN'T: Batman games (boring melees); Witcher games (grindy fetch quests); Machinarium-World of Goo-Plants vs Zombies and other cheap Steam holiday sale throwaways; Amnesia (jump puzzles with eerie music); Team Fortress; Torchlight (ooh flashing lights and noises); Doom ... GAMES I HATED: Far Cry 3 (seemed to try hard to be cool in a 13 yr old way); Portal 1 gimmicky; Civilization any version - phone UI I think

Anything but sports games and simulators (bus, tractor).

I generally avoid JRPGs are well. But, not entirely.

I really like console-like games. If you look at my stats my most played game recently has been Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

If it doesn't have full controller support on Steam I don't buy.

I've dived into pretty much every genre except MMOs, although that's likely to change once Star Citizen comes out.

Lately I've been alternating between Pillars of Eternity and Minecraft with a little Starcraft II and Titanfall on the side.

Rift is really darn good and completely free. Unlike other MMO's its not pay-to-win.
Try it for two days and tell me what you think.
