What type of cable is used for cableTV?

Its coaxial (rite?) but is there a specific number? Im lookin for good deals on this type of cable so I can run the cable from my sister's room cabletv splitter into my new TV tuner. I need like 30-50 ft or so

You want to get RG-6 coax cable. Its a thicker grade, and is less prone to transmission loss and interference. But there is a small premium of like .10/m.
