Hey guys,

I'm trying to help a friend of mine save some money on designing his garage. He's a big classic car buff and owns 2 60's Mustangs, and 86 SVO and another Fox body that's his track car.

He just built a new 4 car garage in his back yard for them and he want's to be able to back the cars in. The problem is that the old cars blow crap up on the wall when he starts them. He's wanting to do some kind of paneling half way up the walls of his garage that's easy to clean. Right now he's thinking of using diamond plate steel but that gets a little expensive, Anybody here know of a good looking alternative material that would work?

Other ideas right now include him tileing half way up the walls (lots of labor and still pretty expensive) or possible a formica material kind of like counter tops, but who knows if that will stain from exhaust 'crap'. Plus he want's to keep the place looking like a muscle car stable, not a resturaunt bathroom.

Ideas?

FRP=fire resistant panel, looks like that stuff that is used on bathroom walls.

How about that "floor paint"... you know the coating you can paint on your garage floor.

What's on the walls now... drywall... just bare studs?

Or how about running exhaust hoses through the back wall to the outside?

Just stick to the Mustang theme. Mustang this, mustang that. Hell, even better - just use the sheetmetal from the cars instead of dry wall

There ya go... go to the junkyard and purchase some old hoods and line the walls with 'em.
