Tito's handmade vodka
Old Forrester is actually a pretty good bourbon that is reasonably priced.
Honestly when making mixed drinks I have few complaints about bottom self liquor.
I like a manhattan made with the cheap house brand bourbon and martini or gallo red. You could also mix it with coke if you like.
Cheap gin or vodka and tonic.
cheap vodka makes a fine cape cod and can be used with a generic coffee liquor for white russians.
If you're not drinking it straight or nearly straight like a martini, I see little return from spending the money on the big names, the subtle differences get lost in the mix of flavors.
Just wondering what type of booze is good but pretty cheap. Need to pick up a few things but dont know what to get.
Sake is one of the things I will be picking up but what else shoot I shoot for? Remember, must be cheap and have a decent taste to it.
Stoli Vodka is as low as I go on Vodka, but it's some of the best vodka for mixing. You can get a 5th for $18 around here.
Ok so it seems that Vodka and scotch are a given.
Now I heard from a friend that you shouldnt mix clear booze with darker stuff and stay away from mixing hard liquor with beer. Is this true?
Also, 1990 in my name has no significance at all. Just ignore that for this thread....![]()
