Thanks for the link Skoorb, BikesDirect has some good pricing and free shipping. I can't match that from local bike shops.

I bought a bike from them last year. The bike was good but if you don't have a lot of knowledge on bike maintenance, you'll most likely have to bring the bike in when you first get it.

I gave away my bike last year. It was a Fuji Gran Tourer circa 1978. Great bike but I prefer hiking to biking now and hadn't used it much over the past few years so off it went.

MMmmm, tasty :D I nearly got a Zurich myself after my Fuji Team was TKO'ed by an old lady in an Oldsmobile.

If you haven't already done so, check those pedals to see if they're under recall for potential spindle breakage: how to tell

Edit: Mech..just watched that video of you riding in the snow. You're fuckin crazy!

You say I'm crazy like it's a *bad* thing

Thanks for the heads-up on that. I have the LOOK Carbon KEO pedals on both of my bikes, one says 08/05 and the other is 11/05. Funny, I have over 4,000 miles on one set and probably close to 2,000 miles on the other.

1992 Trek 1200, with Aluminum frame and Shimano 105 workings.
It's a $200 Craigslist bike, but it works well.

Circa-1992 Trek 900. Was my brothers, and I just can't bear to rid myself of it. Needs extensive work, but I use it to limp by. Fortunately my commute is only about 3 minutes long :)

old Trex 1000. I had to replace the chain and crankset (53/13) last year and put on new brakes this spring. I've got a Cannondale F400 which i ride in the winter (never got into off road riding so it's not useful in the summer).

My old Norco got stolen, but hopefully I'll be able to grab a 2007 Norco Bigfoot, Sasquatch or even Rival for $300. Slim budgets don't make it easy to buy new bikes :(
