Marinated in white wine for 24 hours, a little salt, some butter, stuffing of course, and a blowtorch to cook it with.

I wouldn't eat any turkey that had to get drunk before you can eat it.

Same here. I opted not to stuff it because it was still a little frozen in the middle and I was worried it wouldn't get done.

My family uses a chinese sort of marinade, stuff the inside with bean paste, ginger, garlic, scallion, mushrooms, and onions. Makes it very savory (probably sounds weird though)

I want to try a deep fried turkey. every i know that has had it say it is great.

This year my wife made her first turkey. So it was a rather easy reciepe but she did a great job. it was nice and moist and delicious!

Since they were so cheap ($.39 a lb) i picked up a extra for the deep freezer. I plan on cooking it in the webber latter next year.

I had homemade meatball subs 😀

Being alone this holiday, I wasnt up for a big meal, but when I do I follow a tweaked Alton Brown brine turkey recipe.

Brining turkey works very well.

Deep frying a turkey sounds expensive in terms of materials. You would obviously need a special fryer for it, and God knows how many gallons of cooking oil. You could spend more money on cooking oil than you do on the turkey itself. I also hear many people burn down their homes/garages after the things catch fire.

i didnt make one this year, the whole family got together at my uncles house

last year i used this one from alton brown

i have a turkey in the freezer, prolly cook it this weekend and i *plan* on trying this recipe from Tyler Florence

yeah walmart had the fryer for $39 and the oil for $6 but then next year you only need the oil. But the few people i know that have tried it claim it is the best turkey they have ever had. But i also hear it is really dangerous to do.

$6 for oil? It seems to submerge a large turkey, you would need a lot more oil than $6 worth.

Yup, 35lb container of vegetable oil is like 12 bucks at costco.

yeap i love Sams club. I go and stock the deep freezer with stuff. though a 35lb container of vegie oil would last a loong time. we do not have a lot of fried food.
