what trucks and cars come with diesel options?

i've been looking for a cheap used car/truck as a first car, and the thought of finding a diesel hit me the other day. It's cheap and plentiful here, but the only cars and trucks that i know came with it are VW's and F-250 to 350's. I am looking for a 1980's +, but i have no idea what trucks and cars came with it, and what trim level to look for(so i can get an idea for prices on auto trader) so i came here hoping some of you would know what i should look for. Thanks 🙂
 
the problem with edmunds is that they don't go back to the 80's, and it's in american dollars. Thanks though 🙂 i just need truck/car names and the trim levels that a diesel might have come with
 
well.... i know some older mercedes and vw's come in diesel (as well as some newer VWs.. TDIs)
but as for american... there are only trucks... don't know exact models... but ford chevy gmc and dodge all have diesels
 
Dodge (Cummins) and GM also have diesel engines in their trucks.

Volvo may have an auto diesel.

No overseas pickups have diesels.
