Dang, for utorrent it says in big letters IE6 is not supported🙁
I know firefox is better but I'm insanely used to IE6 and don't want to change.

that's one for bitcomet and one for uzerus, belive I heard uzerus has ad-ware though

I don't know what that ie6 not supported refers to. Please post a link.
If you browse torrent sites with ie6 and download the torrent files, ie6 launches your default torrent application as it's supposed to. I just did it then.

**scratches head**

UTorrent pwns chunky Azureus java
I don't know where I saw it but when searching for utorrent I found a forum download post where they said IE6 isn't compatible in huge letters. But sense I don't know where there's nothing to show and you guys say it works anyway.

utorrent it is

Hmm everytime I click the icon I have the option to "run", isn't there a way to actualy install it?

Yes there is. Download the uTorrent installer (646kb) and install it.
You have probably downloaded the Standalone client (170kb).

I use the installed version myself.

From the uTorrent FAQ's

Does µTorrent install itself?

No, it is a stand-alone application, unless you use the installer version. However, on first run, it will ask if you would like to make shortcuts on your start menu and desktop.
Where are the settings and .torrent files stored?

They are stored in %AppData%\uTorrent. The .torrent files you load are stored there so µTorrent can keep track of your torrents.
How do I uninstall µTorrent?

Delete the exe. If you're concerned about the settings being left on your PC, delete the folder uTorrent in %AppData%.

That is for the web interface, uTorrent will work just fine however if you plan on using the web interface you can't use IE6

Thank you. I even set azureus to use 80MB of ram for cache just to reduce hard disk writes. I figure I've got 1.5GB of ram just sitting there... it might as well do something.

I have 4 machines and none of them have 2GB of RAM. I guess I'm a memory miser.

uTorrent because it's so lightweight. I used Azureus for about 2 years before discovering uTorrent. I've used it since.
