So which torrent applications let you leech best without having to upload at a high rate? I'm using Bitcomet but so frequently it seems to want more bandwidth up than down and if you cap your up it caps the down.
Anything better than Bitcomet that lets you leech freely?

If you don't want to upload, fork up the coin and get a usenet account. There are clients that manipulate upload/download ratios but you will get banned from any self-respecting private site.

The only reason I use torrents is because it has global error checking.
Last time I check(granted it was years ago) usenet did not.

uTorrent is awesome, but it doesn't let you cheat ratios or anything like that.

Last time I checked most newsgroup posters also uploaded parity archives so that you could make sure your download was correct and possibly rebuild the missing/broken chunks.

uTorrent is awesome.

For the record, Perry, uploading is the key to the entire BitTorrent framework.

My friends have learned this the hard way. "half of the torrents on this site don't even work" hmmm I wonder why.

What is so bad about uploading? It's not like it lags your connection or anything.

another nod to uTorrent, such a small footprint yet it can be customized so well to fit perfectly with your connection / suit your needs

just have to learn that there is no such thing as free leeching unless you're downloading something extremely popular on public trackers

another for utorrent. 1 to 1 ratios are minimum for sharing. just tweak it for high bandwith hours of the day as stated above. Give it a try or try opera!

another vote for uTorrent here as well, you can customized any download/upload speed you want. I would be careful with Opera, if on the same drive it brings my computer to a near halt on over 1GB files with Torrents, but uTorrent will work fine.

I use Azureus (don't install Vuse, use the classic client). I've heard uTorrent is better but I've got so many torrents stored in Azureus that I don't want to switch.

I must say your failing at torrents though.

This is totally against my beliefs. This is blasphemous.

uTorrent is the best BitTorrent client I have ever used. As others have said, it has a small footprint, and is easily configured to utilize your connection. +1 :D

utorrent ftw. op, don't be a disgusting leecher. in order for bittorrent to work, you also need to upload. atleast achieve 1.000 ratio.
