What tool would I use to trim down a non-adjustable shower curtain rod?

Grinder for thirty bucks for metal, it is a great tool and has various uses. I never use my hack saw for anything now, I hate them. Grinder can cut metal, wood, sand in some cases even all with just the metal cutting blade!
 
Angle grinder or a metal chop box.

Fuck a hack saw!
Fuck a Dremel!
Miter box wood blades are for non-ferrous metal only.
Pipe cutters are for copper not stainless (not that that rod is stainless... no fucking way for $30).

Start collecting tools while you are young and learn to use them so in the future you don't have to ask a nerd forum how do do something simple and get 50 wrong answers.

you want him to go out and spend 100 bucks on a tool so he can cut this and never use it again?

hand tools would work fine.
 
I just installed this same rod that I bought from Amazon in December.
I had to cut off about 3.5 cm to get it to fit. I wrapped one end in a towel and put it carefully in a vise then cut it at an angle with a metal cutting blade (Bosch) on a cheap jigsaw from Home depot that I had. You should also be able to cut it with a hack saw. I also had to drill 3 holes in the tile on each side for the endplate and install some expandable holders specific for tile. The ones that come with it are for wood but they may or may not work. Took about a hour to do total.

Thanks for the info! I'm gonna be putting it into drywall. So the cut definitely is at an angle then?
