I think you should just start from "pants" and then go from there.

Christmas is a time we spend with those that mean the most to us. That you choose to spend this time with me means more to me than I can express. I want you to know just how important you are to me. I've always been one for being romantic and long winded when I give a card to someone I care about. It REALLY drives the message home. But that's not bad. It just sounds more like a toast than something you put in a card.
