I?m attending a funeral tomorrow and I'm wondering it still customary to wear all black? any exceptions? This is a traditional funeral in a catholic church.

hrmm, the times i've gone i've gone in my tux, but instead of a bowtie, with a black tie. I have a black vest, black pants, black jacket (obviously) but have worn a plain white dress shirt instead of the tux shadow..

sorry for your lose

You don't HAVE TO wear all black. Dark pants of any color are fine. White shirt, etc.

Is it for someone you knew personally?

Although funerals are for the benefit of the living, If it were for someone I knew, I think it can be appropriate to dress for them: i.e. clothing that represents some personal connection.

Otherwise, stick to traditional; whatever that may be for the benefit of the other people in attendance. Black is not your only option, IMHO.
