what to use to detect dead pixel?

my viewsonic vx910 got delivered. i can't wait to get home and play with it. in the mean time, i want to know how to detect dead pixels. i never had a LCD monitor before and this is my first. got it from www.jr.com and apparently they don't have a dead pixel policy and i can return it even with 1 dead.

If you can't see them - don't worry about them. I have two viewsonic 900VX's now for almost 2 years, and have yet to find one.

looks like I have 1 dead pixel, stuck in black, in the middle left of the screen. Is it worth the shipping back to them for a replacement w/o guarantee that my next one won't have any dead pixel?

Does it bother you? If it does, then ship it back. If not, don't worry about it and enjoy your new lcd!

Nokia's Monitor Tester - it does most of the same stuff as the link above, but you can run the tests without an Internet connection.
