OK, we just got a new set of Stainless Steel Emerilware pans as a shower gift. What do you use to clean them? The instructions say to use a powder type cleaner and mix it with water to make a paste. What type of cleaner do I need to get?

I would clean them the same was as I've cleaned every other pot and pan I've ever had in my life. Dish soap, warm water, and a sponge. The scrubby side of the sponge if it's really got stuff burned on there.

Barkeeper's Friend is excellent for cleaning stainless steel. It can also remove the purplish hue left behind on pots and pans after cooking.
