What to upgrade?

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
USA (East Coast)

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
Intel, NVidia, WD (For platter drives).

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Current build is in sig. Using most/all. Only thing not listed is my Antec 1200 case

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
I lurk... a lot.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Running at 4.8 right now, have hit 5.1 easy. Would love to go further, but temps suck till Venomous X Black gets in.

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
Currently at 1920x1200

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

Get an SSD. For around that price you can get a vertex 2 120-180 gb SSD to load your os and games on. It'll help smooth out some of the jerkyness in some games as well as boot faster and load apps faster.

Yeah, but realistically, that is like $400 max (with his $250), and what are we expecting the 590 to be? Like, $700+ right?

An SSD is still a hell of a lot fast (and cooler and quieter) than 15K drives. That's about the only reasonable upgrade that I can see for the machine in your sig. The Agility 2 120GB is actually a really good deal right now at $175 AR.

I think I might go with an SSD + the Rasa RS240 watercooling kit (CPU loop)
or would LOVE a new case too. Lian-li V2000 or something >_<

An SSD is about an order of magnitude faster when doing random I/O than even a 15K drive.
