What to upgrade?

I have a few hundred to pump into my machine, and I'm wondering what the best road for me to take is right now. My system specs are:

Pentium 4 3.0C 800mhz FSB
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe Mobo
1GB PC 3200? RAM (I'm not sure the speed or brand, but I know it's DDR400)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
Main HD: Fujitsu MAS 15,000 RPM SCSI 40GB
Backup 1: WD 1200JB 7200 RPM 120GB
Backup 2: WD 1200JB 7200 RPM 120GB
16x DVD-ROM drive
Pioneer 12x Burner (yes, old 😛)
Soundblaster Audigy MP3+
Dell 2001FP 20.1" LCD

My initial thought is the RAM, maybe upgrade to 2GB of some low latency Corsair stuff. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

If I were you, I would wait to upgrade. Most of your hardware looks pretty up to date. In case you didn't know, DDR400 is the same as thing as PC3200. I think 2GB of RAM would be overkill for most purposes.

Maybe get a new burner if that's something you do regularly. 12x is way slow and you can get a 52x for under $40. Other than that everything looks fine.
