The place down the street. IMO, Del Taco is even worse than Taco Smell...

I disagree. They actually seem to care a little bit about their food. Their refried beans are most superb and don't come out of a tube.

different strokes...I prefer Taco Time over either of those two, but there's none within couple hundred miles of me, so...El Pollo LocoFTW!

Del Taco > Taco Slime > Taco Hell

Oh, and you'll be happy to know you're getting 4 more Taco Slimes in CA! ;)

Diarrhea.....they just opened one in Machesney Park close to where I live. I went there once and it was nasty.

That's desirable if you get that 2200 calories monster.

Macho Tacos are pretty good. 1/2 lb. red burrito is too. Come to think about it...the Double Del burger isnt too bad either.

chicken soft tacos ummm!

I also like the beef burrito, it's nothing but beef + cheese. I add some Del Scorcho sauce. It's plain but I like it.

Del Taco also has very good burgers, but they are pretty small. And the Chili Cheese Fries aren't that bad either.

Besides the actual supply of food, IMO a lot of the presentation and quality has to do with the people working there (maybe an indication of management quality as well). Back where I used to live, there was one particular Carl's Jr and one Taco Bell that weren't very good, but others that were. Pretty consistently too, I might add. Unfortunately the crappy ones were near where I worked (and I ate out every lunch) while the good ones were near where I lived (20 miles away).
