Last night I tried "I don't believe we've official met, my name's Tom" and her head was on my shoulder and her arms locked with mine three minutes later. I kid you not. :)

thanks for the real advice yall. actually last night, another reason why i couldn't do anything was b/c she was there with another guy. but the guy didn't seem like it was her bf. she seemed like she was studying with an international student and showing him around. but hopefully, she'll be there again.

Come to think of, no matter how much advice you take from us you're either going to be yourself (what you should be) or put on a show (and look like a fool, if not now then a bit further down the road which is even worse).

Sooner or later your true colors will shine through so stop asking for advice and be yourself. It's the only way. But the confidence part is definitely a must. Hope you're not a stuck-up person.

But unless you can afford to keep up that kind of lifestyle you're hosed for sure.

I thought it was excellent. Its all about what you prefer. IMHO, a good steak is easier to come by then good sushi.

See, that's why you offer her a coffee before you try to talk too her. Something like:

"hey, I'm studying here too, and just stopped for a coffee break. I was wondering if you'd like one too..."

Easy in.

Good luck, whatever you do!

BTW, disregard my last comment. I find it funny, however, that your first post on the Anandtech forums is a "how do I approach this girl" question. What an original topic! ;)

Is that what they called it "In like Flynn?"

I like a grande latte with Irish cream syrup, oh yeah, if you don't mind, give me a slice of cheesecake while you're there.....

i don't trust the zagat food guide. that guide sucks... i would rather use some other book where it was based on a personal person not just a survey.

One of my friends uses the phrase "Sup trick, lets twurk somethin". It doesnt usually go over to well. I have no idea why ; ). So my advice to you is not to tell her that.
