I wanna skip kitty litter n teach my cats how to use the toilet.

One of my clan mates was trying to teach his cat to use the toilet, but he finally had to give up on it. The cat would use it with a tin foil pan in the toilet, but not with visible water. I think it depends on the cat. That would certainly be convenient.

We feed our kitteh Nutro. The vet is very happy with his weight, coat of fur, and whatnot.

If there is anything precious or expensive that the kitten might sink it's claws into, move it or keep it safe somehow. When we adopted our stray a couple years ago, Ecco dress shoes went back into the shoebox, put leather messenger bag in a closed closet after work, etc. Keeping a scratching post in most rooms helps with this. Just plop kitteh down by a scratching post and run his front paws on it. They'll figure it out. If you've already got a dog you're probably used to this.

Don't go cheap on kitty litter. Just don't. We use Fresh Step premium or whatever it's called. Can get 40lbs for under $20 at Sam's or Costco. It really cuts down on the smell.

Awesome we're feeding him this right now.

It says it has a good amount of protein and he loves eating it so I don't see a problem with sticking with this food for now.

We almost bought scoop away but someone else and my gf recalled fresh step being super awesome so we went with that and smell/clumping hasn't been a problem since.

We use feline pine, we have 4 cats. As long as you clean their box morning and night there is never an issue.

I don't know how some can do it only once or twice a week even with one cat. Smell or not, it's unhygenic.

The clumping litters are popular, but they are messy/dusty. They have fine particulates that you just don't notice daily, but month later you will find a fine powder on things you had no idea it was getting too.
