What to make of this aborted FS/FT transaction?

I saw a piece of software offered on FS/FT with an asking price of $100. The thread was 5 days old, so I sent a PM asking if it was still available and how much he needed for it.

He replied it was still available, the price was $175 but I could have it for $150. I went back to check the FS/FT thread and the OP had been edited to change the price to $175. I sent another PM asking if he would explain the price change and was told the item had been sold since my earlier PM. The thread now has the title and OP edited out. Obviously it's a dead issue.

The guy has decent heat so it's not a n00b situation. What do you make of that?

What Sqube said or it could've been a mistake and he went to fix it after he saw your PM.

If it really bugs you, put him on your DNT list.

Not whining at all. Just confused about it. If someone told me they changed their mind and wanted more, or had a RL buyer for a higher price, that's fine. It's up to them and I can then decide to pass or play. It was just the way the post got edited suddenly plus the PM that offered it to me for more than the asking price without any explanation that threw me.

Happens all the time in FS/FT.
I used to get angry when people do not follow the etiquette of trading but I adopted the model of "there will always be a next sale".....you forget about it and move on.
