What to expect in 2015 ?

Nvidia and AMD will come out with totally awesome new cards that I won't buy because I'm a cheapskate. Intel will continue to crank out awesome new faster, lower power, cooler cpus that nobody will notice because the chips already far surpass the needs of almost (but not quite) everybody. PCIe SSD storage is where I'm expecting the biggest mainstream growth for 2015.

Portlandia had a great idea. The city/mayor had a 3d printer and no money... The city council asked what he could do with it....print a new building? He said, "We can print a brick!" So they printed a brick....he said, "Wow....it's very light...still hot."

It was pretty funny...sadly, no link because IFC is selling episode content.

AMD, Nvidia, and Intel will offer incremental upgrades to their product lines. We will see maybe 10-15% higher performance per dollar, and we will also get about 10-15% lower electricity usage per dollar as well.

If you have a CPU or GPU made in the last 5 years or so, its probably still not worth upgrading.

Well the coming war against the Reptilians will certainly lead to advances in weaponry and survival gear, at least until humanity is inevitably defeated. I imagine Intel and the others will be busy supplying new technology to their reptilian masters as they rebuild the ruined Earth in their own image.

If I make it through 2015, I imagine I will have yet another horrible year filled with anxiety, depression, insomnia and malnutrition. If I dont make it through the year, I expect a race track and a Datsun 240Z.

Samsung will release new Android phones that are marginally better than their old phones.

Apple will do the same thing with their iPhone's. People will buy millions of them anyway.

Wireless charging might finally become a feature on more products.

4K TV's will still cost too damn much. There still won't be a lot of content for them, either. Maybe 2016 will be better on that front.
