Recently have gone on a buying spree that has netted me several cpus > one of which is a 2400+ (AIUB0249WPCW). Thinking about picking up a Shuttle AN35N Ultra to put it in. With decent Ram (whatever that means!) what could I expect out of this critter?

Also have a 2200+(AQXEEA0334SPMW) sitting around too > any suggestions there?

Hear so much about the 2100+ T'Bred, 2500+ Barton, and the Mobiles but very little on these guys.

I just gotta XP2400 ,I thought it would be unlocked but it isn't :( ,any idea when Tbred B's became locked? are they unlockable?

Btw my XP2400 hit 2.2GHz @1.75v ,it could go another 20-40MHz higher or so but it'd need more voltage which I didn't want to do.

If I can't unlock it I'm gonna flog it off:p

I have an early 2400 that I've since modded into an MP2600. Before modding, it would do around 2300 at 1.85v vcore. The one you have is a much newer stepping than the one I have, so I'd say you have a decent chance of a higher overclock than that or you should be able to run around 2300 with a lower vcore than mine.

CPU Magazine published a PC Modder special and ran benchmark tests on stock and OCed procs including the Thorougbred B 2400+. When paired with an MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR motherboard, it was able to be OCed to 2.21mHz at 147(x2)mHz with a multiplier of 15 with a VCore of 1.6V

The scores for PCMark 2002 and 3DMark 2001 SE are:
Clock Speed Frequency Multiplier VCore CPU Memory HDD 3DMark
2.0mHz 133mHz 15 1.6V 5967 4601 1204 13039
2.2mHz 147mHz 15 1.6V 6578 4820 1206 13970

You can see that there was a 931 point increase in 3DMark 2001. Not a bad increase really.
