Personally, my body is awful before I get it warmed up. Before I go for a 'real' run (like training), I generally have to run a 1/2 mile, stretch, etc.

Very true for me too. Yesterday, I ran at the actual course I'm going to be running on saturday so I can get a feel for the hill and pavement. I didn't warm up properly and gassed half way through, ended up doing it in 14 minutes.

The second time, I waited about 15 minutes after I ran the first time and I was already revved up, did it in 12:30.
 
Good luck on your run, I would take some sort of Energy Supplement. I have some pills at home, I'll try and get the name of them. I take them before my lifting workouts.

Make sure you take the energy stuff about 20 mins before.
