New Egg open box 1900gt vivo for 109 before taxes/shipping a good replacement for my 6800 that just died? Would you chance it or should I wait for a good rebate...also is NE's recertified stuff okay? I'm looking for something not much over a hundred bucks for casual gaming.

It'd be a nice upgrade from your 6800, but I'd try to get the 6800 replaced under warranty first. Newegg recerts are pretty safe although I've never felt the price difference over a new retail was anything special. Either way that seems like a good deal and if there's something wrong with the recert you can just send it back no questions asked.

My 6800 is a Gigabyte used for about 18 months- I emailed them about warranty info as I can't seem to find anything on their website about it!

Go for it. But be sure (like I always advise) you have the 6pin power connector to power the vid card. Your 6800 might have one.
