Quick "What if" situation question for ya'll...

I have a Bose lifestyle 28 system that has stopped working, well there's no more audio I should say, the main unit/DVD player still works just no sound. I'm reasonably sure it's something with the sub/amplifier...I know there's places online to have them repaired for a couple hundred bucks but I don't want it anymore...do you think it would be worth the hassle to repair then sell it or do you think someone might buy it cheap then do the repair themselves?

Be thankful that you don't have to listen to anything from Bose ever again and buy yourself something from a real audio company? 😀

Agreed! But it was free to me, just don't know if resale would be worth fixing it first...

I'd guess the best thing to do is get a quote or two from your area. It's hard for us to say if it's worth it or not. It would depend on what's really wrong with it and the cost to fix. Might be easier to just post it on CL or ebay and sell it as is.

Sadly nowhere whithin an hour of me to take it, online it's a flat $200 plus shipping, which would be another $100 I'd bet...I've been leaning towards an as is CL listing and sounds like my best bet, much less headache...
 
I figured for the price they charge Bose would offer a decent warranty, I just looked it up and it's only 1 year on most of their products or 5 years on unpowered speakers. I'd call Bose and tell them you're unhappy and want it repaired at no cost, I have no idea what their customer service is like, but they may do something to help you out. Most top tier companies will extend the warranty to cover a repair if a customer asks, I'm not sure Bose is really one of those companies, although their pricing puts them in competition with others who are.
