What to do with these college letters?

After I took the PSAT's and got my scores back, this month I started getting some letters and e-mails from colleges. I think they're just introducing themselves to us, btu I don't know what to do, I think I've gotten 4 or 5 mailed ones and 3 or 4 messages through e-mail. Should I respond to the ones that mailed a card or papers I should fill out in? I think they just want to send me some information, but I want to know if this helps in any way beyond giving me more information. I'm a sophomore in HS right now so I still have time.

Some of my friends just deleted the ones they got e-mailed, I put them in a folder because I have no clue if colleges look at something like whether we followed up on stuff like this when I apply in a year or two

Just throw them away. You will get a ridiculous amount more, most from colleges you've never heard of.

I don't have any idea where I want to/don't want to go right now.

yeah i'm a junior- took psats earlier and got a 198 index- and now i get way too much college mail. today i got at least 6 letters from who knows where. i think it's funny that they'd waste so much paper on us. i fill out some things to get free stuff and you'll eventually get open house info so that's good stuff. have fun!

This is why I was very careful to check the "Do not send your information to colleges" box.
