Question What to do with my old SSD?

2 weeks ago I purchased a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD. Now I have a 980 Pro 2TB NVMe, 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe, and a 850 EVO 2TB SATA drive in my main system and a 970 EVO Plus 250GB NVMe and 860 EVO 500GB SATA in my secondary system. Here are some options I came up with:

1. Dual boot with Windows 10/Linux Mint with Linux Mint installed on the 2TB 970 EVO Plus and Windows 10 installed on the 2TB 980 Pro
2. 2TB 970 EVO Plus for just the OS and basic apps and using my 2TB 980 Pro for just installed games and my 2TB 850 EVO for general data storage
3. 2TB 970 EVO Plus for just games and using my 2TB 980 Pro for just the OS and basic apps and my 2TB 850 EVO for general data storage
4. Remove my 250GB 970 EVO Plus from my secondary system, and replace it with with my 2TB 970 EVO Plus and transfer the 250GB 970 EVO Plus to my main desktop to use as an OS drive in the lower M.2 slot and transfer the 2TB 970 EVO Plus from my main desktop to my secondary system and use it as an OS drive
5. Sell my 2TB 970 EVO Plus and use the 2TB 980 Pro to take it's spot as an OS/games drive (which how I have it partitioned as currently)
6. Replace the 250GB 970 EVO Plus on my secondary system with the 2TB 970 EVO Plus and sell the 250GB 970 EVO Plus

I hear ya. I have a box load of SSDs ranging from 128gb to 2tb, in NVME and 2.5. I updated all of my devices to its highest capacity and have tons of drives laying around. Some are even NIB. I should probably sell all of them but im a lazy bastard.

Just order my DDR4 3200 16GB RAM from Corsair online. It around which is cheap. Samsung my usual RAM brand is still very pricey and scared. Cannot get at decent price and is hard to find at legitimate sources, only the small operator memory retailers.

I've still got my original OCZ 64GB Agility3, along with a bunch of ~120'ish GB SSD's... but in these days of cheap, high capacity SSD's... no one wants the orphans anymore...

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have 2TB SX8200 Pro that's currently my OS drive, and then a couple 1TB SATA SSDs. Game installs are currently split, some on the SATA and some on the SX8200.
I have three 1TB NMVe drives currently not in use (a Samsung PM981 and two HP EX950s) and a total of three SATA 1TB SSDs. With an eye to DirectStorage I should probably just bite the bullet and get a 4TB NMVe, but the cost of that is just eyewatering right now and DS isn't really in use. Instead I'm thinking of just cloning my OS to one of the 1TB NMVe drives, sticking the 2TB SX8200 in the other m.2 slot, and making a large 4TB Storage Space with two of the 1TB SSDs. It's not ideal, but hopefully by the time Direct Storage gains legs the price/TB premium for 4TB drives will go down a little.

I've kinda put off buying nvme until direct storage gets rolling. Since 99% of my desktop use is gaming it's hard to justify paying the price premium. Maybe I can pick up a nice 3rd gen cheap on sale soon though.

I went with option #4. I'm dedicating the 2TB 980 Pro as a games drive. I noticed no difference between a 2TB 980 Pro and a 250GB 970 EVO Plus for OS and basic application usage even in the lower M.2 slot even though CrystalDiskMark scores a little lower using that slot than using the top M.2 slot for that drive, so I dedicated the 250GB 970 EVO Plus as an OS drive in the lower M.2 slot and since the top M.2 slot is the only PCI-E 4.0 M.2 slot in my system I might as well have the 980 Pro installed in that slot. Sure I could have everything stored in my 2TB 980 Pro and partition it accordingly but I prefer to keep things physically isolated according to their purpose, especially if I already have the drives (separate physical drive for OS and basic apps, separate physical drive for games, separate physical drive for general storage such as downloads and user data).

You don't need to figure out what to do with it, just offer it forsale, and the buyer will have some kind of plan for it.
