drain it into an empty container and trash it. Draining it into your sink will clog it big time.

See if there is anyone in your area making biodiesel out of old cooking oil and give it to them. The ultimate in recycling.

Maybe not the best idea but i once dumped out some grease on an icy snow pile and lite it on fire. I got to shout "Help! The snow is on fire!" :)

Regular frying? Just put it down the sink slowly with hot water and the garbage disposal running.

Deep frying? Strain and re-use.

Bacon fat? Keep that shit in a jar for cooking.

Put the container (like empty coffee or soup cans) in the fridge to let it solidify before tossing (but make sure Joey doesn't try to drink it!!!).

I never see anyone with a container of used oil sitting around in the kitchen.

We seemed to have one in the fridge all the time for future reuse.

Then again, it just could have been a family heirloom.

My mom always had one - old milk cartons (the cardboard waxed kind) and would put grease in there for a while then toss it when the next milk carton was done, rinse repeat.

Then you don't know people who cook.

It isn't sitting around in the kitchen, it is in the original container after it's been strained/filtered. If you deep fry and toss the oil you're wasting the oil and wasting money.

Once the oil has a "taste" to it then it's time to toss. Until then, reuse it. It helps if you don't burn stuff when you're deep frying.

Effective deep frying means VOLUME. Lots of oil, the more the better.

Create an internet sensation when you use it to set a small, adorable animal on fire, film the results, and set it to Doom music and put it on youtube.

Ditch the tofu-eaters and get some friends/relatives who know how to cook.

McDonald's etc don't just make one batch of fries and then dump all the oil
all real industrial fryers have a filter mode where the oil gets filtered and cleaned

i think
