Title sez most of it, I have a spare 5 1/4" bay that isn't being used. I have a dvd in the first slot, cdrw in the second and my digidoc in the 4th. I was thinking of a front access game port (I've seen these with ps2 ports, usb, firewire, headphones and all that other good stuff on the them but I couldn't remember where I saw them.)

How about some suggestions as to what I should put there....

i am saying get sb live platinum has the little front thing with tons of useful shiznit or i think audigy has that thing to in th patinum version

Front acces panels are convenient if you have to change hardware or speakers often.
You could either do that, or do something cool with it.
There are loads of things to do with an empty bay, you could:
-build a baybus in it to control fans
-build a VU meter in it (really cool)
-put an HD in it with a nice HD cooler
-build a KITT scanner in it or something else with cool light effects
-put an LCD in it

I recently built a baybus in a spare 3.5" bay, too bad I didn't have any 5.25" bays left, would've been much easier and cleaner.

already have a sb card but it's not internal.

I was thining along the lines of a LCD... but they are oooohhhh so much money. I was also thinking of a fanbus... but I don't think that I could because of the door on my sx1030. And now that I think of it, that front panel wouldn't be all that great either because I could close the door...

I have a bay cooler in one of my unused bays. It looks just like a drive but it sucks hot air out.

However, I bought a new case that has a door making it useless. If you want it let me know. I would have PM'd you but you don;t have em. You can buy em at 2cootek for 18 plus shipping. If you want mine let me know before I go post in FS/FT

rheobus or the gameport bay, even though they are a lil cheesy, the bus is a lil suspect for the USB and especailly the firewire (if that comes with it 😉 )

plycon rheo with blue lights are pretty dope if you like cool temps and low noise.

yea... I saw one somwhere else where everything plugged into the mobo, not in the ports in the back....

Who's got one of those matrix orbital lcd's? I was looking at one of the graphical ones but I don't think it would fit into my bay... *doh* But there are some other cool ones...

See if you could put a car stereo in there. That would be sweet, and you could have an LCD and a kickin stereo at the same time.

Let me count the ways...

1) Bay Bus / Fan Bus
2) LCD display
3) HD Cooler, ie: Cooler Master 4002
4) Dual compunurse temp displays for instant temp viewing, no pushing buttons like the digidoc.
5) Fans? you could fit a couple 50mm's 😀
6) LED Title display... www.gideontech.com did a review on that thing...

yea... I think I will hold off on anymore audio... I think that the audigy ex and kilpsch promedia's that I have now are plenty.

Am thinking on the lcd... saw that dual temp compunurse.... and your right, would be way better for my cpu's... but... eh... anything else?

What speakers you got? My midiland 7100's has a volume control module thats fits in the 5 1/4 inch bay 🙂 Its an expensive upgrade but so are all the other suggestions.
