So this is the first halloween at my new place. its at the top of a small hill and at the end of a cul de sac. I ran out of candy at my old place so this year i got a boatload figuring there would be a lot of kids, but its 9PM and NOT A SINGLE trick or treater has knocked. My question now is, what should I do with all this candy?

P.S. I'm not a big candy person, I have some every once in awhile but I get sick of it really easily.

Yeah, this happened to me too.

Well, 6 years ago, I had bought like 5 bags of candy, with only 5 people showing up. This year, I just picked up a bag for 3 bucks. No one came. I'm thinking of just eating it all.

Camp out in the bushes across from school tomorrow morning and chuck it at the kids a handful at a time while screaming, "YOU'RE GETTIN YOUR DAMN CANDY ANYWAYS, YOU LITTLE SH*TS!"

Oh yeah, you can do what I did. Keep the candy in a dry place, and give it way next year..and the year after that. I gave some kids 4 year old candy once. Well, I beta tested it first to see if it was still good.

Put it in a big bowl on your desk at work, all the fat girls will come by and have you cleaned out by noon.

yea but if no one comes this year, why would they come next year?

Camp out at the base of the hill in your car and offer to drive them up to your house?
Don't forget to ask, "Want some candy, little girl?"

Seriously though, are you even in a "hot spot" neighborhood. Most people prefer housing communities. Or you might just have to wait a few years for your neighbors to start pumping out more kids.

Build potato cannon.
Carve out a piece of a leftover pumpkin, yielding a round, flat piece.
Place into potato cannon.
Load candy in front of it.
Open fire.

The free market will decide who makes use of the freely available, widely dispersed, lightly toasted resource.

Its unreal how much candy goes to waste during this month.

Its no wonder that Halloweedn is a $5bn a year business.

This is in no way an attack against the OP, just a general comment... We had 80% of the candy we bought go to waste too.

I think that's what i'll do . . . just pass it out at work and not waste so much money next year, i'll keep a little bit on hand for next year.

I demand to see the data over the past 10 years. 80% could simply be an outlier.

I bought $50 worth of candy and I'm not talking $50 worth of full sized candy bars, we're talking little Reeces Cups, Kit Kats, Tootsie mix, Skittles mix, mini Twix, etc.... Candy I would actually eat.

Probably close to 600 pieces total.

It lasted about an hour and a half... and we were tight with it. Giving one at a time (2 or 3 if the pieces were little, like the mini tootsie rolls), instead of handfuls.

Every year since I lived here, we've run out, and every year we get more than the year before... it's nuts.

Our neighbor across the street hands out hot dogs, chips and pop... and candy too.

Last year she gave out 500 hot dogs.

I don't have a count from last night... but there were a lot of people on our street.

I have noticed that kids are getting less and less creative with their costumes. I mean... a rubber mask and that's it.. no full costume. If you're gonna be Bush or Clinton... wear a suit... do it up.

ROFL

Seriously, if you want to sleep better, donate it to a facility like an abuse shelter. A little chocolate can go a long was on the road recovery.
