What to do in Stockholm?

My family is heading there to meet up with some of my relatives.

Anything interesting to do in Stockholm or in Sweden in general?

Go to the Vasa Museum. I'm not a fan of museums when I travel because they take away from all the other things you can be seeing or doing in your limited time but that one completely sucked me in.

I'm also the weirdo who spent like three hours *voluntarily* riding the metro to different stations, most of which are uniquely decorated. Google will tell you which ones are worth visiting. Here's a starting point:

My family went to McDonald's tonight for dessert. The portion size in Sweden is like half that in the U.S. Funny to see such small sizes.

McDonalds? Go to the other side of the world, and the best you can do is Mcdonalds?!

In my defense, I didn't go with them because of work. It's just my wife and kids. I assume the kids wanted to see what a McDonald's there was like. But yeah, first day in Sweden and they go running to McDonald's; that's lame.

Heaps to do in Stockholm, but sort of depends on what you enjoy.

Obviously if shopping and stuff like that is what you want to do then it's not going to be any different than any other western country. With the exception being specific items and shops that aren’t exported from that specific country.

The real difference lies in the type of food, countryside, music and stuff like that. Go and visit stuff you have seen on TV or in a movie. Go for a walk up a mountain and stuff like that 🙂.

Visit Old Town, see the castle and all that sort of stuff.
