What to do in San Francisco for a day?

Continuing from a previous thread that's semi-related:

I'm going to be in San Francisco tomorrow (Monday) from 2:30pm until 9:00pm and don't know what to do in that time. I plan on coming out in a few years with my wife to visit her brother that just moved out there and we will likely spend a few days in San Francisco checking out all the "attractions" (trolly cars, Golden Gate, Alcatraz etc.). What I'm looking for is something cool to check out that maybe my wife wouldn't find interest in? I'm a golfer that listens to metal music and I design and build home loudspeakers for a hobby, just in case any of that helps in the decision. Oh, and where do I dine for around $25 (business trip) that kicks ass?
