Go visit the Desert Dome and the Lied Jungle at the zoo? It's on 13th Street, near downtown. They're always nice and warm in the winter.

I always get told Brother Sebastions (120th & Pacific) is a good steak place, but I hate it. :p

How long are you here?

Riverboat Casino was always my best option for Omaha trips. Just stay away from the strip clubs.......shudder.......

I never want to see a 350 lb stripper again or I will gouge my own eyes out.......

Did he give you his name?

Sadly enough it was a female stripper..... :Q
Technically I think that was in Iowa though, across the river. Maybe Omaha can do better....:)

I just went to Spezia on 72nd near I-80 a few weeks ago, they had some good steak (varying in price). I've heard good things about the Texas Roadhouse and Tony Montana's, but never been to one. There's a semi-famous BBQ place on Fort Crook Road in Bellevue, just a couple miles south of Omaha, the Amarillo.

The guys I know usually went to Shaker's in Waverly, but it's a little bit of a drive (probably 30-45 minutes).

Oh, man, I hope you didn't go to one in Council Bluffs... I've heard pretty much nothing but bad things. Boomer's, maybe?

I think that is the one. It definitely was in Council Bluffs. We went in , ordered one beer, and they open the curtain and out pops a 350lb black stripper. We didn't even manage to finish our beers. I think I have post traumatic stress disorder from that one...... :)

To the OP, I always had fun at the Ameristar Casino. Lots of games and some pretty decent food as well.

The Amarillo is semi-famous?

It seemed like a pretty basic BBQ shack to me. For BBQ I like a little shop out of Elkhorn much better.

If the OP likes Sushi be sure to check out "Blue" on Maple and 132nd (or was it 144th...). Their Spider rolls and Itchy Salmon are excellent.

Upstream Brewery has two locations - downtown and way up on the far west end of Center street. Their stout is fantastic.

It's a little over-rated, but yeah.

Agreed on Upstream - GREAT food and Better beer.

The Zoo is great as well - was just there last weekend with the kids.
