No, it's not that bad.

I've flown between Columbus and Chicago quite a few times... I always go to Midway. It's not nearly as busy, and it's a fairly nice airport. I've never taken a cab from there... though I have an uncle that has, and he has never had a problem (other than complaining about high prices).

i seriously have no idea about midway. i went there just once to drop-off some friends and then get out of there, and this was like 5 years ago. i personally have always traveled through o'hare if i really *have* to go through chicago (the delays there are killing me so i always requested to be rerouted through some other city).

ride the ferry (not fairy) over to the shedd aquarium and tour that place (be sure to get there before 2pm)

catch a ride to weber grill for an early dinner (less crowd) and hit up a show afterwords (let me know what nights you'll be there, entertainment varies by day of the week)
