I just send a laptop thru UPS, insured $1000 and the receipient said it was delivered but not to his place!! i know this happens and i want to know what to do next with UPS?

How long this time wasting procedure is going to take and how good is my chance getting my money or item back?

Anyone with experience or working for a courier pls advice, thnks.

Good luck, my dad had some heads insured for like $800 and they lost them and they basically told him too bad.

Really?? That is terrible, what is the point of having a package insured then. I am tired of hearing horror stories about USP and Fedex.

I guess its time for some revenge...

UPS , Fedex and Airborne constantly leave stuff on my front porch, too bad I will never get that Geforce FX from Best Buy next month. Guess Best Buy is gonna owe me another card.

As i am at loss here, i will do all i can, up to calling Dateline, 20/20, Time megazine, well any news media who wants my story.

Some companies just need alittle bit of stress from the media.

How long has it been? I have had numerous problems with packages coming to me from online retailers and the packages being listed as delivered in the online tracking database but not receiving the package. In the end, all of them were properly address and UPS was misdirecting them or there were duplicated tracking numbers, etc.

Call the UPS 1-800-# and tell them the tracking number. Tell them you believe they have mis-delivered the package because the recipient tells you they have not received it. Then tell them that you want them to begin a tracer on it. I believe this takes about a week to finish. Ideally, they will locate where in the shipping process they went wrong.

Ideally, they will find it from the tracer. If not, (which has not happened to me so far), then I assume you begin the insurance claim procedures which I would anticipate being far more difficult than it should be.

No offense, but your story isn't scandalous enough for them to want to cover.

Are you saying that's you'd rather get those yellow slips (UPS) for three days, and then either have to A) go to the UPS office to get it, or B) have the shipment returned to sender

No. I think he's saying he "never got it" and he's sure that someone "stole it." You know. ;):|

i am very sure i am not the only one with this experience if they donot compensate, so of course the news station will begin researching this allegation and will conclude if it is scandalous enough.

most if not all news stations have their own PI or research team that does all the dirty work. finding all the grime in your past.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, fedex dicked me over also.

see here

Both the shipper and the recipient (me) are in the LA, CA area and my package is now in new jersey somewhere.

That would be interesting if they did do an industry wide story on how many packages get lost or seriously delayed and for each company. I'd definitely want to know.

They fvcked me over once good too. Delivered a new computer case to the wrong house and then denied it. Said that since I had previously signed a slip allowing them to leave it at the door in my absence that they were not responsible for it...even though I was home the whole day waiting for it and they never came. Three deliveries earlier I had found a my new Clie I ordered sitting in front of a neighbors house down the street. Fortunately I got that one eventually. They are really shltty about honoring the insurance. They will do anything to try to avoid it.

Yep, and also a receipt for the laptop too to proof how much the value of the laptop is.

Local news will cover almost anything story, from greedy Antique Dealers to scams by house movers. The story about the greedy Antique Dealers are just to warn us against businesses like them even though they have done nothing wrong or against the law.
