I bought one a month ago thinking I'd end a ten year run with multi-gpu. On impulse I bought a 2nd when a used deal presented itself. Bam, X79 rig up and running with 2nd card due in tomorrow. I have a great custom bios for 1215 air, will flash the new one and sit back wondering what to do next. No regrets! Game, bench, what??

Asus x79 Deluxe
EVGA 780 Ti Classifed SLI
16 GB Ballistix 1866 9-9-9-27 Quad
i7 4820K @ 4.5
Intel 520 SSD RAID 0
X-Fi Titanium HD, Little Dot MK IV se AMP, Sennheiser HD 650 cans
Seasonic, Coolermaster HAF XB

I started with Crysis 3, then Crysis 2, then Metro LL, now on Metro 2033.
Talk about bass-ackwards :p

Yep benching first, actually thought about Witcher 2 and Uber Sampling, Metro 2033 maxed, and have always wanted to make a gameplay video to bore friends and family with. Things like stalking in Crysis 3, boarding and capturing a ship in AC4. ShadowPlay with narrative.

anything below 60 fps on my 780ti sli setup felt like garbage.

Actually the more accurate statement would be: almost anything that wasn't frame capped at 60 fps felt like garbage. Battlefield 4 for example, which I played a lot of, only truly felt smooth with a frame cap on.

Hey lava did you mean above, or below 60fps, cause you mention frame cap

i have a 780 SLI and it feels like a waste after a week of ownership. Not enough good games to play.

Rust and DayZ dont benefit at all lol

Lot of power there. For some reason SLI feels kinda poopy on BF4 for me as well. FPS has to be sky high to feel good. Kinda odd really. 60fps feels like 30 to me for some reason. Maybe 120hz ruined me for anything under 80fps or so?

Not sure if serious.
God forbid i want to turn all eye candy on and have over 60 fps all the time, yeah a waste.
It's more that if you're spending that kind of money on GPU's, you should put some of it towards getting something better than a mediocre monitor.

Congrats on your purchases OP! Game to your heart's content.

So 2nd card was an Amazon warehouse deal, it came missing all accessories and no anti static bag, not as advertised. Jumped on chat to discuss, end up getting additional discount to bring it to $ 550 even. Higher ASIC than my full price one, running well! Bench and games tomorrow :)
