What to do about my rooster problem

I live in a townhouse complex and for the past month or 2 we've had several roosters roaming around. My unit is in the back side of the complex that backs up to the woods.

It started out as 3 or 4 just sticking to the edge of the woods, they they got a little braver and moved out into a grassy playground area behind our house.
Now they have invited their friends bringing the total closer to 10.

They have also now started crossing the street and coming right up near our house.
They have also started crapping near the house.

Now normally I wouldn't have an issue and I'd just leave them be but roosters do not make good neighbors. It's a popular misconception that roosters start cookadoodle-doing at sunrise... ooooh no .. they start a few hours before sunrise and continue ALL DAY.

My fiancee and I have been woken up several times at ungodly hours of the morning.

I've called the home owners association, the town, etc, and nobody is doing anything.

I'm really trying hard to be a good guy and take care of this in a way that would be positive for both parties but I don't think it's going to be much longer before I snap and start offing these things with my trusty pellet gun. It is grilling season after all!

Any suggestions?

Boil them to make removal of the feathers easier, and use a good marinade before throwing them on the grill.

I just left a voicemail for animal control. They claim to have been out a few times trying to trap them. I don't see how this could be too hard, I can practically walk right up to them and grab them.

Yeah, bb gun with one pump or a paintball gun oughta scare the crap outta them and send them packin. Once they learn that little round things that sting hit them when they go into that area, they should stay away.

Nah, you would not want to grill a rooster... they have too much connective tissue and it would be pretty horrible. You would have better luck barbequeing it, but most people don't have the setup to do it properly.

If you really do want to eat it, just about the only thing you can make with a rooster is Coq au vin.
