What to do about an attempted fraud?

I got an email appearing to be from paypal but with a reply to a hotmail account. I did a trace on the origin IP and it turned out to be a RoadRunner customer out of North Carolina.

Here is a portion of what he wanted me to give him.

This e-mail is the notification of recent innovations taken by PayPal to detect inactive customers and non-functioning mailboxes.

The inactive customers are subject to restriction and removal in the next 3 months.

Please confirm your email address and and Credit Card info number by logging in to your PayPal account using the form below:

Full Name #:
Credit Card #:
Exp.Date(mm/yyyy) #:
ATM PIN (For Bank Verification) #:


So besides telling paypal and his ISP, should I contact anybody else?

Send him back some fake info and let him try to log in using that.

I thought about that and I also thought about forwarding it to the FBI. ;)

Just to be on the safe side, send me all your credit cards and I will hold them for you. That way a scammer can't get at them.

Definitely not Homeland Security.
