What to do about abortion protesters?

It's summer time, and those giant pictures of bloody babies are all over town.

I'm all for free speech and right to protest, but if it's illegal for me to be naked or even swear in public - it should be illegal for those sick fvcks to hold up those posters in public.
Yesterday my daughter caught a glimpse of the anti-abortion van (also loaded with graphic pics)
she got scared and even had nightmares last night and she was scared to go to gymnastics today because she didn't want to see the pictures again. She's 7, and now scarred because of it.

As or right now, I am really pissed about this crap.
It's ironic, on an idiotic level that these people are "protecting the children" by holding up these graphic signs.........that scar the fvckin children!

What can i do about this?
I've contemplated getting a doll, wrapping a coat hanger around it's neck, covering it in ketchup and tossing it out the window when i drive by....but thats stooping to their level.
Paintball would be fun, but that's dangerous and immature as well.

is there anything I can do, legally, about this?

What if i got a group of people together with large pure black signs and just went and stood in front of them?

I honestly am thinking about doing something in retaliation to the mass of ignorant f***s who sit outside of these clinics in my city.

One idea I had was to paint a giant piece of cloth with "ignorance is bliss" written on it, run infront of the crowd, and take a photo of it being held up infront of them. It wouldn't do much at the time, but it would make for a great shot.

I would find the owner/operators of the van, get their names and file a motion for a restraining order. Take your child to a psychologist and get some documentation that these f%$#heads mentally scarred her.

Either try your best to ignore them (unfortunately, this may mean having to go out of your way to take your daughter to gymnastics via another route, etc.) or try to find the leader of the protesters to plead your case. Unfortunately, they can be pretty zealous, so I'd approach with caution.

Personally, I'm pro-life morally and pro-choice legally, but even I agree abortion protesters can go too far with their graphic signs. Strange how those who plead for sensitivity can be so insensitive themselves. Good luck, sorry your daughter had to experience that.

I don't think there's much, if anything, you can do about it. I guess it is their right to be a bunch of complete d!ckbags.

You could call the police and register a complaint I guess citing indecency laws but I wouldn't hold much hope that this would have any impact.

I was sitting in a Shoney's here in Richmond the other day having lunch with my wife and my father.... I look out the window, while enjoying my country fried steak, just in time to see the abortion box truck drive by.

I had to put my fork down. I was just glad that my 5 year old wasn't there to see it.

I am against abortion, but women have the right to it if they want it. I agree that something should be done. It impacts my right to walk down the street with my children without having to explain to them why these people are so sick.

Indecency laws and anything unrelated to censorship are all violations of the first amendment and should be thrown out like rotting vegetables. The FCC can kiss my rear. I doubt you can do anything legally because the protestors are restricting their activities to around abortion clinics or other restricted areas - it's not like they are parading up and down every single street, posting pictures of aborted fetuses everywhere, sticking them in your mailboxes and all over your front lawn. You do have a 'right' (perhaps not political) not to be offended but when it comes up against curtailing the right to free speech (regardless of how worthless that speech might be) you will most likely lose. This is the cost of having freedom - live with it.

You may find Village of Skokie vs. National Socialist Party to be a case of interest (it's quite famous).

No, I probably wouldn't find Skokie vs National blah blah blah party of any interest.

My suggestion was merely that, a suggestion and not one that I thought would have any hope of creating an impact.

Abortion protesters are a bunch of douchebags. Right up there with the PETA nazis.

Edit-I remember a few years ago I was going to get some take out ribs at a local rib joint but PETA was out in front handing out disturbing literature. They handed me something but I just threw it right on the ground. Fvcking bastages. :|

in this situation I'd say it's about the only way he's gonna get them to stop. I mean I guess he could ask nicely first but yes in this case it's a wonderful solution. I'm not telling him to sue over a hot cup of coffee or something.
