Thief Deadly Shadows is one of my favourite games. Although it is a deviatiation from the first two, it is a beautiful game. OTOH, althought TX2 is a "fan-based-Exp pak" - it is just as professional and well written as anything by Eidos. It even has the zombies although they are easier to deal with than Thief cause you have the weapons for the job. And TX2 has HUGE maps with no "loading" - unlike Deadly Shadows tiny maps.

That would be cool if they would re-release the original 2 games... but updated with modern graphics. :)

Many of the textures that are used in T2X, are higher resolution than what was used in Thief 2 though, but the engine has a limitation of 256x256 pixels pr. texture. So by today's standards, they're not "high res", but compared to the original Thief 2 textures, some of them are.

the Dark Engine that powers Thief1/2 and System Shock1/2 are really limited to 16-bit colour and 10x7 . . . i know there are hi-res packs for SS and SS2 . . . . but i agree - these classics should be remade with modern gfx. . . . i hope there will be a Thief IV [non-platform port].

Thief - DS is a beautiful game compared to the first two but rather different . . . i like 'em all and am really blown away at the DEPTH of TX2 - it is an improvement over Thief 2 [and i am only on level 8 of 13].
