I've been upgrading by system and I'm to the point of getting a new video card or getting a new mb and memory.

If I go with the video card it would probably be an AIW 8500 simply because I like having the turner. If I go with the mb it would be the Epox nforce and 2x256 of Crucial.

What do you think would give be the best increase in performance between the two? I encode a lot of digital video, movies, etc.

Any other suggestions would also be welcome.

thanks

Since you encode movies alot. I would go with the DDR solution. The Video card will not boost any encoding speed. :)

Hm.......Nforce or Nforce 2?? I think you're better off getting a Nforce 2 for now. Stay with the PC2100 RAm and get dual channel DDR.

You'll see about 15-25% increase in encoding speeds. I'm just estimating. :)

Sorry, I was thinking about the Nforce 2. Thanks for the insight, now if Newegg will ever get them back in stock.;)
