Im going to get a new harddrive. But It needs to run coo. Becuasue it's going to be kind of little place left in my case. So im considering the ibm 60gxp, maxtor dm60+ and wd 400bb. And the maxtor is more expencive than both the others. But what I have seen the ibm 75gxp went kind of warm, is the 60gxp better? btw, it's going to be the 40 gb version.

I know that 75 gxp has problems. And I know that it went kind of hot as well. Therefor I wanted to know if the new 60gxp runs cooler. I got two maxtor drives currently, I relly like them, and definatly love the rma policy. But it's more expencive than the 60gxp in norway, and it isn't in stock before the 20.

IBM replaced their 75GXP line with the 60GXP series, go with one of them. Or get a Quantum.

I can't wait till Maxtor/Quantum come out with their first combine product. It'll be very interesting to see how it performs.

What about the ibm's warranty? 3 years? it seems like I can't find anything about that. And the error rate for the maxtor are better than the ibm (1*10^13 vs. 1*10^15)

I'm running 2 WD Caviar 40gs. The WD400BB in RAID0 and I have to highly recommend them.

I don't know about the heat or temp, but, they are silent.
