My motherboard hit the wall on Sunday, so I'm in need of one in a hurry. I was all gung-ho for getting an Asus P3V4X and ordered one from a company. A couple hours later, they told me that they don't have any and won't be getting any because Asus isn't making them anymore.

I can't really find them anywhere, but I'd really like one. So, now I don't know what to get. What's comparable to this board these days? I'm using DIMMs and have a feeling I don't want to deal with intel chipsets lately? I was using an Abit BH6 and liked it a lot, so, if anyone has any suggestions for a good, solid motherboard that has comparable features to the Asus or Abit, I'd appreciate it. Just sorta lost. :)

Go to the For Sale/Trade Forum and post a WTB for that motherboard. I'm sure someone will have one to sell. I would also suggest you consider a P3B-F.

NO!!! you should've gotten a Soyo SY-6BA+IV! a FAR better mobo than the boring but stable P3B-F
the 6BA+IV to date is still the best mobo I've owned yet.

those highpoint 366 controllers can be a bit funky under the right circumstances.

And don't forget ATA/66 support, P3B-F only has ATA/33
but the 8 IDE devices is by far the biggest plus, ALSO the 6BA has 2 ISA whereas most P3B-F have 1 or Zero. the 6BA also has four dimms for a gig of RAM, and all the other features that the P3B-F offers!! like they are similar boards but the 6BA overclocks alot better I find as well.. not just a little.. alot better! :)

The BX board I was gung ho for getting before I got my 815E was the Abit BE6-2 v2. The specs are great, and you know all about Abit's reputation. :)

It works, it's reliable at lower clock speeds, but it doesn't overclock as good as a 6BA
It's just a boring mobo. But I have one upstairs and it runs well.. it's fast overall but just not as nice as a 6BA in my mind.. it's just another BX mobo. :p
