what to buy: Lincoln LS vs. Maxima

I am shopping for a three or so year old mid size sedan. I was pretty much set on 1999/2000 Maxima, but then also started considering LS. LS has pretty decent reviews and definitely offers more luxury. Also, used, it is same or even cheaper than Maxima. However, Maxima has better than average reliability, while LS has just average. But I do feel that LS is a better deal for the money.

What do You think?

Personally, I'd go Lincoln LS.

which LS are you looking at? The V6 5-spd are pretty niceand fairly fast.

Wow, even resident fanboi and Nissan expert Madd would go for the LS :)

Test drive both and buy the one you want. The LS is a bit more "luxurious" so to speak, more compareable to a 3-series possibly

Maurader isn't that fast. Hell the new Crown Vics will get the same engine the Maurader has now. Until Ford can stuff something better into the engine bay or if the Kenny Brown Marauder S was cheaper in price, then yea, the Maurader would be bad ass. But it's just a black, overpriced Crown Vic

I know what older Maximas are like, but only red reviews about LS. The only drawback to LS is the average reliability and that it will cost more to insure.

Manual transmision only. And it is only available on a V6. Will be hard to find thoug, I imagine.

According to his last thread, I don't think he's in the market for another "fast" car. The LS would be a lot more comfortable, and the cheaper parts should make up for what it loses out on reliability in. Good luck in your search. :)

it is unbelivable, how hard it is to choose a used car to buy. With new cars, - simple, - I would again get WRX or wait for the STi. But with used ones, especially when it has to be something not so fast, - the multitude of appealing choices is so vast.

def get the LS... They are pretty reliable and won't just break down for no reason. It's better than a maxima.

LS all the way.
The way they redesigned the new Maxima, it has totally turned me off.

I think it's pretty ugly almost comparable as the aztek
