what % tint should i get?

I am not really familiar with tints at all, but i think a little bit of tint on my car would look classy.

what does the lightest tint look like that has a little bit of dim? also, is there a super light tint i can get for the front windshield that would block UV rays and such? (no tint is legal for fronts in PA)
I personally think super dark limo tints on a car isn't classy but ghetto.

I have 35% on my car and it's pretty much perfect for me. My car is white with a beige interior, so it doesn't look as dark as my friend's 35% tint on a black/black car. I haven't been hassled by cops about it either.

35% is a good level. I had 20% on the back window of my truck and it was too dark.

35% doesn't look ricey. I have had 35% and liked it. Unfortunately state law here only allows 50% tint.

i've seen cars w/ 35% in pics, but i need to see it in person before i decide what to do. but it seems like 35 is the way to go.

btw, i have a black 07 accord coupe, so if it was super limo tint dark, it would look totally ghetto.

I've had a bunch of different ones, but prefer the lighter ones as well. The size of the car's interior, the number of windows, and the color of the interior partially determine how dark the tint will look from the outside.

You can get 60-70% tint for the front windshield to really cut down on the heat. It's virtually unnoticable, but as you said, is still illegal.

I agree, get whatever is legal and put it all around your car. I used to go with Limo on the back and back seat windows but I found that it's too dark when I use my sunglasses

I would go one step above the limit, so 30% or whatever if the limit is 35%. Otherwise you are just asking to get pulled.

It would be 40% or something along those lines...not down in percentage...It is rated in visibility, 0% = very very low, 100% = full visibility.

I have 35% on the fronts, 15% on the rear...I have had 15-20% on the sides and it just seemed way too dark at night.

But I also agree with Ayabe that you should go a little above the legal limit. That way there is never any doubt if you get pulled you are gonna get a ticket. I did inspections when I was a auto tech and I have seen a lot of "35%" come up juts a little over the legal limit and fail them. So just because it says 35% does not mean it is. Also some car makers put a very slight tint to their windows. Not enough to really see but it can add up to cause a fail in some states.

Some have tinted glass from the factory which isn't a film. Like the newer Merc's have that light blue tint.

Yep its built in, not a film tint. And most don;t even know about it until its to late.

In NC you were given i think a margin of 2-3%. So even a 33% would pass. But get a window that has a little built in tint, tint maker that was 34.5% or so, and/or a machine that is slightly off and you now fail.

35% is the legal limit here too. That's what I got my front windows done at, but the rear ones were already tinted darker when I bought the car. I wish that it matched, but it's not a huge deal. Anyways, 35% is no where close to ghetto tint. You can easily see someone through 35% tinted windows.
